WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) _ Craig Dawson scored 21 points and Antwan Scott had 16 points and four blocked shots to lead No. 17 Wake Forest to a 86-47 victory over Campbell on Saturday night.

The Demon Deacons extended their winning streak to nine games, dating to last season's NIT championship. The win marked the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Deacons have started the season 4-0.

Nine players scored for Wake Forest, which shot 57.6 percent from the floor.

The Camels (1-2) were coming off a 70-39 loss at Winthrop on Tuesday, a game that Campbell shot 27.9 percent for the game and managed only five second-half field goals.

Things weren't much better against Wake Forest; Campbell shot 30 percent.

After leading 41-18 at halftime, Wake Forest increased the margin to as many as 45 points thanks to several transition scores.

The Deacons hit 20 of 32 field goals in the first half for 62.5 percent. Campbell hit only 7 of 26 attempts.

The Deacons used a 17-2 run in the final 5:47 of the first half to turn an eight-point edge into the 23-point halftime margin. Wake was 8-of-12 during the run, including a 3-pointer from Ervin Murray just before the halftime horn.

Scott and Dawson each had eight points in the half to lead a balanced Wake Forest offense.

Campbell's offense started quickly, getting four of its first five buckets in the paint to take a 10-6 lead.

But that's when the Demon Deacons' aggressive man-to-man defense shut down Campbell's patient offense. Switching on every screen and pressuring the Camels out past the 3-point line, Wake held Campbell without a field goal for 7 1/2 minutes.

During that span, Campbell missed 11 consecutive shots. When the Camels guard Derek Gray banked in a jumper from the left wing with 5:47 remaining in the half, Wake led 24-16.

Campbell managed one field goal the rest of the half on a short jumper from guard Adam Fellers, allowing the Deacons to take control with several transition scores.

Center Jonte' Edwards led the Camels with 11 points.
